Peak dates in the visitor calendar
A peak date is a busy stretch in the city calendar when every booking carries a half deposit: King's Day, Pride, the Dance Event, the year end.
Some dates bring far more visitors to Amsterdam than others, and on those dates every booking is secured with half the fee in advance, whatever its length and whoever makes it. A returning guest's same-day hour, which would normally be paid at the door, also carries a deposit on a peak date.
Which dates
- King's Day, at the end of April, when the whole city is outdoors and the canals fill with boats.
- Pride, in late July and early August.
- The Amsterdam Dance Event, a week of clubs and concerts each October.
- The holiday fortnight that runs from Christmas into the first days of January.
- Weeks with a large conference in the city.

What a peak date changes, and what it leaves alone
The rates stay the same: an hour is EUR 180 on King's Day just as on any Tuesday in March. The arrival window is still forty to sixty minutes from confirmation in central Amsterdam, although on a day when streets are closed for festivities it is worth giving the exact entrance to your building.
